Pop into our boatyard office. We'll check your booking and answer any last-minute questions.

Safety Briefing

A quick orientation covering controls, river rules, and what to do if you need help. No test at the end, we promise!

Life Jackets On

5 mins

We'll fit everyone with a life jacket. Children must wear theirs at all times.

Meet Your Boat

5 mins

We'll walk you to your boat, show you around, and help you get comfortable at the helm.

Off You Go!

Your hire time

You're in charge now! Cruise at your own pace, stop where you like, and enjoy the river.

Return & Moor Up

5 mins

Head back to our jetty before your hire ends. We'll help you moor up safely.

Warm layers

It can be cool on the water, even on warm days.

Picnic & drinks

Pack a hamper! Or stop at a riverside pub.

Great for spotting kingfishers and herons.

Waterproof bag

Non-slip shoes

Deck shoes or trainers with grip. No flip-flops!

What If It Rains?

Good Weather

Enjoy your day! Remember sun cream – the water reflects UV rays. Our boats have optional sun canopies available.

Bad Weather

If severe weather is forecast, we'll call you 24 hours before to discuss options. Full refund or free rescheduling offered.

Light rain is fine – many people enjoy the river in all weathers! We only cancel for safety reasons (thunderstorms, high winds, flooding).
