Electricity metering & billing

    Campsite electricity meter billing software

Bill touring guests and seasonal pitches for the electricity they actually use — with meter readings, tariffs and VAT handled in one place, instead of spreadsheets and guesswork.

    The problem

    Reading meters into a spreadsheet

Walking the site, jotting readings on paper and re-keying them into a spreadsheet is slow and easy to get wrong — and disputes are hard to settle when the working is buried in a workbook.

    Recharging electricity fairly

Seasonal and long-stay guests expect to pay for what they use. Without per-pitch metering you either absorb the cost or estimate it, and neither keeps customers happy.

    VAT and record-keeping

Electricity recharges still need correct VAT treatment and a clear paper trail. Manual invoices make month-end and your accountant’s job harder than it needs to be.

    How PayCamp solves it

    1

    Log readings against each pitch

Record previous and current readings per pitch or meter. PayCamp works out the units used so there is no manual arithmetic.

    2

    Apply your tariff automatically

Set your pence-per-unit rate and standing charges once. Charges are calculated consistently every billing run.

    3

    Invoice and take payment

Turn usage into a professional VAT invoice, email it, and let customers pay online by card — or settle on site at a QR pay point.

    Frequently asked questions

Can PayCamp bill guests for the electricity they actually use?

Yes. You record meter readings per pitch or sub-meter, PayCamp calculates the units used and applies your tariff, and the charge is added to the customer’s invoice. You can bill ad hoc or as part of a regular billing run.

Does it handle VAT on electricity recharges?

Yes. Invoices apply UK VAT and produce a clear record you can export to Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent or Sage via CSV.

Can customers pay their electricity invoice online?

Yes. Invoices can be paid by card online, and you can also offer a QR-code pay point on site for self-service payment.

    Is this only for campsites?

No. The same metering and billing works for caravan parks, holiday parks and marina berths — anywhere you recharge metered electricity.
